Sorry mf2k, my finger slipped. :) Is it appropriate/recommended for me to add the maintainer keyword myself in future (we thought it was, but couldn't find a way to do so having submitted the ticket).

Yes, you should use “maintainer” when you create tickets about ports you maintain. I don’t think non-committers can modify tickets after they’re already created, but feel free to email macports-dev if no one picks up a ticket for a while.

Thanks Larry. I've put a note in our release checklist, so it should hopefully get tagged properly next time. Do you want all the other maintainers CCed too, as I can add a note about that as well?

Alright. Note that it’s not mandatory, but committers with limited free time are more likely to pick up a ticket if it’s clear that it was filed by a port maintainer. Hence, the “maintainer” keyword.

Yes, we prefer that all maintainers be Cc’d so that they’re notified of ticket changes.

Thanks for the clarification Larry, I'll update our doc and we'll hopefully reduce your workload further next time.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
