hi!
i installed pidgin with macports and i receive this message after running 'pidgin' in the command line after it was installed:

(Pidgin:43990): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
	Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(Pidgin:43990): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_display_get_name: assertion 'GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
Pidgin 2.10.11

** (Pidgin:43990): WARNING **: cannot open display: unset

i would appreciate a little support.

What variants did you use when installing pidgin? In particular, is this a +x11 or +quartz build? Easiest thing to do is just post the result of the following command.

sudo port installed pidgin
