We should update metakit. They stopped using libtool in 2.4.9.4.

The last version of metakit was 2.4.9.7, released in 2007. After that the project moved to github, with several changes being committed there. The developer says no further work on metakit is planned, but he agreed to release the changes made up to now as 2.4.9.8, to which I've now updated the port in r137805.
