kde4-kile: Associating with .tex files for opening a file by double-clicking

I am not able to associate Kile in OS X to open .tex files by default. If I try, two things occur:

  1. The change in program association cannot be changed on all files of the same type: (10813 error code)
  2. When I click on the single file with the association changed, Kile will open, but the clicked file will not.

If I use the command prompt in Terminal, I can pass a filename in as an argument and Kile will open the file.

In short, the question I have is this: is it possible to open a file with Kile by clicking on it, rather than either using the command prompt or opening Kile and then using File -> Open?

Kile is indeed not coded to enable the possibility of interacting with the Mac Finder, in order to open files with double-clicks or drag and drop.

This however usually requires specific code to register the application, which is not present in this case, so that the request should be sent upstream in the hope that the developers could add this functionality.
