    1 If the maintainers feel married to the current approach - let's leave the current (ancient) port of ghc-7.8.3 alone, with all the goodies it offers, and add another "minimalistic" port of ghc-8.6.3 that provides only {{{ghc}}} (**not** dependent on LLVM!), {{{cabal}}}, and {{{stack}}}. Everything else users can install themselves just fine.
