Description

I started another ticket a while ago about having issues with dbus. Fortunately, I was able to resolve those, but I'm encountering new problems a little bit later on in the process. No matter what I do, I can't install and activate py27-cython. I tried installing, setting, and activating python 2.7, as well as accessing subsets of it, but nothing works. It simply can't be found. I had to clean and uninstall everything.

Moreover, I tried running a self-update (sudo port selfupdate), but it won't work, although I've already installed command line from XCode and agreed to their terms and conditions.

What should I do to resolve these issues? Moreover, should I anticipate any other issues along the way? Thanks!

Selfupdate and sync problems are known and being worked on by the administrator. See #49233 and #49224.

Could you show us the exact error message you received when trying to install py27-cython?

Sorry for the delayed response! I reinstalled MacPorts last night and was able to successfully GIMP in the end. I didn't even need to forcefully activate dbus this time around. Maybe I just got lucky? Haha!

Oh, I had two other quick questions, if that's okay: 1- I had to install XQuartz, as well, in order be able to open the GIMP app. Is that okay? 2- If I want to add GAP, what prompt should I use?

Thanks again!

port search gap gives various hits, but I guess its "The Gimp Animation Package" what you are looking for:

gimp-gap @2.6.0_8 (graphics)
    The Gimp Animation Package.

gimp-gap-devel @2.7.0-20150207 (graphics)
    The Gimp Animation Package.

I close this as invalid, as this was probably a hosting related issue and there was nothing to fix.
