gcc49 @4.9.3 does not build on MacOSX 10.5.8

Description

While gcc43, gcc44, gcc45, gcc46, gcc47, gcc48 and gcc5 build and run just fine, gcc49 doesn not build on my Intel-based MacBook running 10.5.8 (log attached). The error is 

:info:build ld: illegal text-relocoation (direct reference) to (global,weak) hash_table<loc_list_hasher, xcallocator>::find_slot_with_hash(dw_loc_list_struct const*, unsigned int, insert_option) in libbackend.a(dwarf2out.o) from anon in libbackend.a(dwarf2out.o) for architecture i386

(the "relocoation" might be a typo) preceded by many warnings of 

could not create compact unwind
