povray @3.7.0.unofficial no image display while rendering

Since Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan povray shows no preview image while rendering. I get the following message in console:

We're not doing anything special in the povray port to cause that. You should report the problem to the developers of povray.

I've updated the port to version 3.7.0.8. Please let us know if the problem persists with that version. If so, please also report the problem to the povray developers, and if possible, provide us with a link to that report.
