vte @0.43.2_0 fails building on 10.6.8

Any ideas why this symbol is not known?

This flag constant is not defined on 10.6. Will fix.

Fix for this particular error committed in r145274 but fixing this just reveals another error having to do with a libstdc++ compatibility issue that effects 10.8 and earlier (#50492).
