error with caffe variants

When using the default variants (cpu, openblas, python27), the caffe port installs without problem. But when I try to install other variants I get an error. Used command : "sudo port install caffe -cpu +gpu" The error :

Error: org.macports.build for port caffe returned: command execution failed

    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_math_caffe/caffe/main.log

I know that the gpu variant needs /usr/local/cuda. I confirm that cuda is installed at the expected place (I installed it from the nvidia website, installed version is 7.5.20)

When I try the universal variant, I get the error :

Error: Cannot install caffe for the arch(s) 'i386 x86_64' because
Error: its dependency py27-scipy is only installed for the arch 'x86_64'
Error: and does not have a universal variant.
Error: Unable to execute port: architecture mismatch
