This is a request to obsolete the py-pyfits port, replaced by py-astropy. See proposed updated Portfile, attached. The following ports depend upon it:
py-kapteyn- py-pywcs
py-SRPAstro
If this is alright, would the maintainers of the above ports please update to use py-astropy instead?

Note that a "request" ticket type is only for requesting a new port. Let's call this an enhancement.

py-pywcs is also obsolete, and there are no ports that depend on py-pywcs (see #53266). I just updated py-kapteyn so that it no longer depends on py-pyfits (see changeset:"3f2fdb6294626c7b93eb1683f436f7de8a6059b5/macports-ports").
