what is happening here?

19:28 little-laptop:~% sudo port install +cvs +date_conditional +db4 +debug +deepif +gnuregex +headercache +idn +imap +pop +sasl +smtp +ssl +trash +xlabel ---> Fetching DarwinPorts-pkg ---> Attempting to fetch DarwinPorts-1.0.tar.gz from downloads/ C

no Portfile in file://.

(then "oops" and add the mutt-devel target and it's ok of course)

with HEAD as of tonight

No, it doesn't guess. I can't explain what's happening. Can you do that with -d to give us some more clues? And what about a directory listing of the current directory.
