I don't know why, but it appears that they had Mac-specific versions of the source code package. The Mac-specific version of the 1.7 source code from December 2003 was called 1.7.2, and the Mac-specific version of the 1.7.1 source code from February 2004 was called 1.7.4. In the MacPorts port, we are using the non-Mac-specific 1.7.2 source code from May 2004; no Mac-specific files were uploaded to SourceForge for that version. So there is nothing to update here. We just need to fix the livecheck.
