It looks like the latest version requires dash, magit-popup, and with-editor. We currently only have a port for dash.

Should we encourage users to install Magit from MELPA and make this port obsolete?

If the idea is to have users install Magit from MELPA, the obsoletion message should actually say that, instead of just telling them to uninstall it.
