Inkscape fails due to glibmm dependency problem with variant +xquartz

Description

Attempting to install inkscape with +quartz on MacOS 10.12.6 with macports 2.4.2. The error stats gib2 must be installed, but it was (confirmed with fresh install) and when you try to install glibmm directly it also fails

The error message tells you what you need to do.
