Please also attach the ffbuild/config.log file which should be inside the path given by port work ffmpeg.

The solution from #59376 appears to have enabled me to upgrade ffmpeg:

sudo port -f uninstall ld64
sudo port install ld64 +ld64_xcode

In fact, the fallout from force-reinstalling ld64 resulted in ffmpeg being upgraded in the fixing-up process on my system.
