hyperref links are coming out as solid blocks of color

Description

After the latest update, texlive-latex / hyperref is creating links that appear as solid blocks of color. They still work as links but are not readable. The best workaround I've found so far is to use the option hidelinks: 

\usepackage[hidelinks]{hyperref}

What do you mean by "the latest update"? The last update to texlive-latex was 6 months ago.
