Port is currently at version 2.0b4, as when submitted in 2007. Upstream project is still active; latest release is 2.0b6 (released 2016), although project recommends installing from development branch pending an upcoming release.
If this port is to be kept, its fallback dependency on deprecated port kaffe should be replaced with using the Java portgroup (#60206).
(I personally do not need this port. I had proposed deleting it: https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/5140, but there is disagreement over deleting ports still maintained upstream.)
