Upstream doesn't appear to have made any progress at this point, and who knows if/when that will ever happen. Closing.

Note that r234 is an svn snapshot, not an actual release. An actual release is hoped for "before the end of the year" (written in 2020, so presumably the timeframe slipped a bit).
