Description

We offer v3.6.15 currently, both 3.6.16 and 3.7.2 are available.

The 3.7 line had been release almost a year ago and at least one pending port update (libfilezilla) requires GnuTLS >= 3.7 to build.

Any chance to update to 3.7.x anytime soon?

Hmm. I ran livecheck this morning and neither showed up.

As far as updating to a new branch, I always wait for upstream to declare it stable.

3.6.16 is the current stable release, and the port has been that version since May: [13e2af0008a02d29bfacbbb7582f66a60a86d569/macports-ports]

Have you run port sync or port self update recently? Version 3.6.16 was committed on May 24.

If you're not aware, this is one of those projects where odd minor versions are development releases and even minor versions are stable releases. https://www.gnutls.org/manual/html_node/Downloading-and-installing.html

Sorry, my fault: I was running port livecheck accidentally on a branch I created even earlier.

Thanks for the heads up, I did in fact miss that.

So what would be the recommended way to maintain ports that depend on a development version of GnuTLS? Just keep them outdated until a stable release is being published? I guess TLS 1.3 will be supported by more and more ports soon...
