Abiword Port is a PowerPC App!

Description

On a new Mac Studio (M1 Max, 32GB RAM), using Mac Ports 2.7.2, just installed today, I port installed Abiword (gnome word processor). The resulting installation is a PowerPC executable and of course will not execute! This port should be fixed. I tried forcing a build from source:

sudo port install -s abiword

but I still ended up with a PowerPC executable.

Is there a way to force a full source build, resulting in an M1 executable (or even an x86 Rosetta executable)?

% port variants Abiword
abiword has the variants:
   universal: Build for multiple architectures
[+]use_binary: Use binary distribution
     * conflicts with use_source
   use_source: Build from source

Of course it shouldn't be defaulting to that except on ppc systems.
