aquaterm fails to install in ventura

result as follows

Error: The installed version of Xcode (14.0.1) is too old to use on the installed OS version. Version 14.1 or later is recommended on macOS 13.
Error: Follow https://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets if you believe there is a bug.
Error: Processing of port aquaterm failed

I have tried using Xcode 14.1 rc3 with another more esoteric problem will post details if required.

not really anything to do with aquaterm, really.

MacPorts (and homebrew) won’t work properly with Xcode 14.0.1; the release of Xcode 14.1 has been slightly delayed, so you must use the betas of it for right now, until it’s officially released.

agreed. It's as Ken writes. Issue solved by downloading the Xcode 14.1 rc2 + manually installing the appropriate Xcode run-line tools
