driftnet @0.1.6_1 fails to launch with getpwuid_r() error

Building and installing driftnet and all its dependencies went fine. When attempting to launch it under apple's X11 environment, I received the error message of the following (note, it was launched wiht sudo command):

GLib-WARNING : getpwuid_r(): failed due to: Result too large.

I am currently running:

OS X 10.4.4 xterm: XFree86 4.3.99.903(184)

and all the port files are up to date.

I should also mention that if you have a Broadcom chipset on your Airport interface, driftnet won't work. (The Broadcom chipset is undocumented and open source programs are unable to set it to promiscuous mode.)

The Broadcom chips are found in the G4 AlBooks. Driftnet worked fine on G$ TiBiooks.
