This could also be a bug fix request as 1.5.0 addresses a known error with mbsync and Gmail: 

Socket error: secure read from imap.gmail.com (NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN:993): error:0A000126:SSL routines::unexpected eof while reading

Other package providers have patched isync 1.4.4. to address this. I was actually here to request isync 1.4.4 in MacPorts be patched similarly when I found this ticket. Given the numerous other fixes in 1.5.0, it might be better to just upgrade. The 1.5.0 update has been out since August 2 (based on release notes).

  • Worked around "unexpected EOF" error messages at end of TLS connections; affects f.ex. GMail
