So please try the following:
- Get rid of other-vendor X server installations (whether from Apple or Xquartz), see: https://www.xquartz.org/FAQs.html
- Install
xorg-serverorxorg-server-legacy(for older macOS versions) port. - Reboot (perhaps logging out and logging back should work, but I normally just reboot anyway).
- Try launching
abaddon.
That is supposed to work correctly. If you still get some error, please post the complete output from the terminal.

Perhaps you did not install X server. Or installed but did not reboot. This is a gtk error, not abaddon error.
