Description
I see that there's not a maintainer. Is maintaining/advancing KDE-based ports a heavy lift? I understand if there's too many successive dependencies from KDE to handle easily.

If nobody maintains the port, then probably nobody knows how easy or hard it is to update; you're welcome to try and submit a pull request if you're successful.
KDE in MacPorts is at version 4 which is ancient. Newer versions of KDE-using ports might require a newer version of KDE than that. Efforts to add KDE 5 ("KF5") to MacPorts stalled; see existing tickets.
