The command doesn't make any sense but that shouldn't happen:
$sudo port -vdf destroot ~/<press tab>/awk: non-terminated regular expression { print $... at source line 1
context is

<ctrl-c>sers/pipping/<ctrl-c>
$
also, port dependents is missing:
$port dep<tab>s $port depe<tab>
