Description
The Mac OS X backup tool Carbon Copy Cloner 3 internally uses a custom version of rsync with modifications for handling extended attributes in a cleaner way. The patches are available as open source. Maybe I could put these together into a rsync-ccc port, as it could add some additional features beyond those in the rsync-lart port.

There is rsync-devel which will be released as rsync-3.0.0 shortly (sometime next week). Rsync-3.0.0 handles Resource forks, extended attributes and works quite well as you could try out with rsync-devel.

I'm inclined to agree. I've been using the rsync-devel port recently, and it seems pretty solid. It might allow declaring the rsync-lart port obsolete as well. It's probably not worth the effort to collect the patch ... last time I tried, it wasn't a simple matter of putting the CCC code into place. I'll go ahead and close this ticket.
