The description for the git-core package reads:

"The stupid content tracker."

(Presumably written by a Mercurial fan). The long_description is also wrong.

There is no offense in the description, this is taken from the man page: 

NAME
       git - the stupid content tracker

But right, the long_description is a bit outdated.
