Wine-1.0.1 Steam closes suddenly

When I run Steam under wine, then try to install a game, steam closes with these error messages in the terminal: 

err:wgl:has_opengl  glx_version is 1.2 and GLX_SGIX_fbconfig extension is unsupported. Expect problems.
fixme:dbghelp:dump_system_info fill in CPU vendorID and feature set

How can I fix these?

See also #13706. You could try the wine-devel port instead of the wine port. If that works, use that; if not, there is a bug somewhere in wine or XQuartz which needs to be fixed by them.

Closing, on the assumption that later versions (like the ones in wine-devel) fix this. If not, file a bug with the developers of wine.
