finch will not build - missing dependancy

Description

After running 

sudo port install finch

on a new machine with xcode 3.1.1 and the latest version of XQuartz, I received an error remarking that GLib 2.0 is required to finish building finch. I ran 

sudo port install glib2

and then the previous command again with no errors.
