wxMaxima 0.8.0 input prompt missing

Where the hell is the input prompt? This version of wxMaxima doesn't prompt with the usual (%N) input prompt, what's up with that? The application appears to be running well enough, but I'm unable to use it without an input prompt. What the hell am I missing here? I'm running OSX 10.5.5 with an English locale.

I have the same issue with additional problems. Maxima works fine in command-line mode; however when used through wxMaxima, the command prompt is missing, the arrow keys do not work for moving the cursor or cycling through command history (just get a system bell), and one needs to press "shift+return" in order to execute any input.

This is after a clean install of Snow Leopard and MacPorts, and building with the patches for wxWidgets and wxMaxima discussed in other tickets ( http://trac.macports.org/ticket/20952,  http://trac.macports.org/ticket/22295).

In new version of wxMaxima, need to press "Shift+Return" key in order to execute command. This is spec change in upstream version.
