ghex-2.22.0: configure fails, does not find dependencies

Description

Port installation fails during configuration of ghex-2.22.0. MacPorts: 1.700 Error: dependencies (gnome-doc-utils, libgnomeui) not found 

--->  Configuring ghex
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure - returned error 1

checking for pkg-config... /opt/local/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
configure: error: gnome-doc-utils >= 0.3.2 not found

After gnome-doc-utils is installed manually, configure fails with another error message: 

No package 'libgnomeui-2.0' found
