While there shouldn't be any major problems just updating the version like this, I'm unable to build the new one.
Any thoughts?

If you look for the first error you'll find:
/opt/local/var/macports/build/_Users_snc_ports_kde_kdesdk4/work/kdesdk-4.3.0/lokalize/src/lokalizemainwindow.cpp:637: error: no matching function for call to 'Kross::ScriptingPlugin::ScriptingPlugin(QString, const QString, QString, QObject*&)'
My guess is that there was some API change in Kross (kdelibs4). On my machine I have an up to date kdelibs4 and kdepimlibs4 (see my other patches) and I built kdesdk 4.3.0 without problems.
Am on IRC if necessary.
