metafont errors when installed Lilypond

After applying the work around in #21523: "lilypond fails to build in leopard on PPC" it builds, but later there's a problem I cannot seem to find a work around. Help would be appreciated.

I can't find the base file `mf.base'!

The problem was somehow how one of mftrace, texinfo or texlife_base was built. By uninstalling, cleaning and reinstalling I was able to install lilypond. I think this can be closed.
