Description
Hi,
I tried to install Grace on my MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X v. 10.5.8, using "sudo port install grace". It returned an error about a missing library, and then port would no longer work. I tried logging in using a new terminal window, but port seemed to be missing a library. I hastily closed the window and lost the name of the library.
It looks like the Grace port has a serious problem. I'm sorry for the incomplete information.

Were you using a symlink to /opt/local/ by any chance?

Hi,
No, I didn't use any sym-links. I used the standard installation of Macports, so however that chooses the directories is the way I left it. The installed software is going into /opt/local/.
Thanks, Adam

Can we see the output from the install attempt? Without that, debugging can't really go anywhere.

Hi,
I'm sorry that I didn't think to save the error. I was in a panic. Unfortunately, unless there is a log file that I don't know about and that would have survived the re-installation of macports, I won't be able to provide the errors, except to say that it seemed to involve the output from the last one or two libraries before the install stopped. I can't reproduce this without destroying Port again.
I was hoping that something in the script might look incorrect to a maintainer, but maybe that is too hopeful.

FYI, grace installs fine for me on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Update: It seems that most or all of the software I built using port was wiped out because of this problem.
You may want to consider removing the Grace port until the problem is solved.
