This occurred while installing wine on Tiger 10.4.11; 

simon-ws-computer:~ simonw$ sudo port install wine-devel
Computing dependencies for wine-devel
--->  Building wine-devel

You should also selfupdate to 1.9.2.

wine-devel has been updated to version 1.3.8; please "sudo port selfupdate" and see if you still have the problem with that version. If so, please attach the main.log as requested above.
