Please clean and try again, and attach the new main.log, so we get a complete log.

I am getting what appears to be the same problem, with MacPorts 2.1.1 on a Mac Mini G4 running OSX 10.4.11

Delete lines 28-31 in file /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_multimedia_MPlayer/MPlayer/work/MPlayer-1.0rc4/common.mak ...and all is well

Does installing the gmake port help with this? I know Tiger comes with an older version of make and some other ports have needed to add a dependency there.
