Hi sphinx-search maintainer,
on http://sphinxsearch.com/downloads/ is "Generally recommended release." 2.0.2-beta which should be nice to have in mac ports, because 0.9.9 is almost 2 years old and there have been a lot of development.

2.0.4-release (Mar 2012) Generally recommended release.
Anything new ? On macports is version Sphinx 0.9.9 (r2117; Dec 02, 2009).
