ghostscript: cannot find default lab icc profile

When I try to use ps2pdf or ghostxxx I get the following error: 

ps2pdf x.ps x.pdf
Unrecoverable error: syntaxerror in token
Operand stack:
    --nostringval--  --nostringval--
sfopen: gs_parse_file_name failed.
  ./base/gsicc_manage.c:866: gsicc_open_search(): Could not find lab.icc 
| ./psi/zusparam.c:856: set_lab_icc(): cannot find default lab icc profile

Note, required files are present: 

lamarre$ ls /opt/local/share/ghostscript/9.04/iccprofiles/
default_cmyk.icc	default_rgb.icc		lab.icc			ps_gray.icc		sgray.icc
default_gray.icc	gray_to_k.icc		ps_cmyk.icc		ps_rgb.icc		srgb.icc

Problem still persist after an update january 3 2011…

Version 9.05 works fine on a random .ps file here. Can you provide a test file that can be used to reproduce the problem?
