gegl +universal fails because of babl

Description
My MacPorts is set to install everything as universal, so with gegl's latest port update it is set to be universal and thus "port upgrade outdated" tried to build gegl universal but failed because port babl is not set as universal.
---> Computing dependencies for gegl
Error: Cannot install gegl for the arch(s) 'i386 x86_64' because
Error: its dependency babl does not build for the required arch(s) by default
Error: and does not have a universal variant.
Error: Unable to upgrade port: architecture mismatch
