MacVim: Bad font rendering

Reported by: bernhard@… Owned by: raimue@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.1.2
Keywords: Cc:
Port: MacVim

Description

I installed MacVim from MacPorts (on Mountain Lion).

However, the font rendering is (compared to the binary version of Mac Vim that is distributed on GitHub) ugly. See the attached screenshot.

  • Owner changed from macports-tickets@… to raimue@…
  • Port set to MacVim
  • Summary changed from Bad fontrendering with MacVim to MacVim: Bad font rendering

  • Status changed from new to assigned

I can't reproduce this on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Both the binary distribution and the MacPorts version render identical for me.

Do you have the "experimental renderer" enabled in the preferences of MacVim? Does enabling this renderer make any difference?

No, but when I enable it, there is no difference between font rendering of both Mac Vim variants.

Can you still reproduce the problem when comparing snapshot 65 of MacVim from MacPorts against the official MacVim binary?

With "experimental renderer" disabled, I still have the problem with the new build.
