Ticket #35734 (new defect)

Opened 9 months ago

Last modified 9 months ago

midori: Undefined symbols: _webkit_web_view_get_selected_text

Reported by: atlasfallen@… Owned by: afb@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.1.2
Keywords: Cc: mzp3769@…
Port: midori

Description (last modified by ryandesign@…) (diff)

"org.macports.build for port midori returned: command execution failed"
below is the content of the log file for attempting to install midori alone.
My goal is to install the xfce port, midori is just the obstacle along the way
I'm open to suggestion on getting midori to build, or a work-a-round resulting in successful port installation of xfce minus midori.
Thanks!
system:
ibook g3 900mhz 640mb ram
OS X 10.4.11
xcode 2.5

sorry, disregard the jumbled mess of a paste job after the first paragraph, instead please refer to attached file: main.log

comment:2 Changed 9 months ago by ryandesign@…

  • Owner changed from macports-tickets@… to afb@…
  • Description modified (diff)
  • Summary changed from installing xfce failed due to failure to build midori to midori: Undefined symbols: _webkit_web_view_get_selected_text

Remember to use WikiFormatting when writing in Trac.

Since this was not a clean build, please "sudo port clean midori", then try again, and attach the new main.log if it fails again.

The workaround is to just install all of the dependencies (port deps xfce), minus the midori browser.

You could for instance try firefox-x11. But there is not much use for Xfce, when not running on Darwin.
