afflib @3.6.12: autoreconf failure

afflib fails to build with the following error:

I'm on OS X 10.7.5. The current autoconf on my system is from MacPorts, and is version 2.69.

I just tried to install this port on 10.8.3 and it makes it past the configure stage, but then I get an error during the build.

--->  Configuring afflib
--->  Building afflib
Error: org.macports.build for port afflib returned: command execution failed

I've updated the port and I can't reproduce this now.
