this would appear to be the error

:info:build IOError: [Errno 24] Too many open files: '/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_textproc_doxygen/doxygen/work/doxygen-1.8.10/templates/html/htmltypeconstraints.tpl'

please see the following for ideas how to resolve it:

#50791 and #50986

Thanks! That resolved the issue.

This seems to be a short term resolution, is there a long term solution for this? I wouldn't want to build each dependencies as they fail.

The admins have been working on it -- where it is in the pipeline of fixes I couldn't say. Perhaps Ryan or similar will weigh in on it.
