Problem with gettext — at Version 1

OS/X 10.8.1
After a selfupdate/upgrade-outdated, everything stops at gettext. Here are the messages (I'm attaching the log): 

% sudo port install gettext                                                                                                     
--->  Computing dependencies for gettext
--->  Building gettext
Error: org.macports.build for port gettext returned: command execution failed
Please see the log file for port gettext for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_gettext/gettext/main.log

The lines in the log that say "Skipping completed" show us that this was not a clean attempt, so please "sudo port clean gettext" and try again.
