When installing from source or tbz
org.macports.install for port openldap returned: launchctl: Couldn't stat("/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServicesLocal.plist"): No such file or directory
MacOS 10.8.3 with Xcode 4.6.2

I've run into this before. The dscl error message isn't relevant and MacPorts should really just be ignoring it, but in the meantime try not logging in as root.
