webkit-gtk @2.0.3_0: request to build +quartz by default

Reported by: c.herbig@… Owned by: jeremyhu (Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version:
Keywords: Cc: dbevans (David B. Evans)
Port: webkit-gtk

Description

Since webkit-gtk takes soooo very long to compile, would it be possible to provide a prebuilt quartz package? Especially now that yelp is a dependency of most gnome apps, and webkit-gtk is a dependency of yelp.

Summary: Provide pre-built webkit-gtk +quartz please?webkit-gtk @2.0.3_0: request to build +quartz by default

We don’t (possibly can’t) selectively provide binary archives for specific variants of specific ports. The maintainers might agree to enable +quartz by default, though.

Nope... +quartz won't be the default.

Well that answers that.

If you’d like, you could open another ticket requesting archives for +quartz builds of all applicable ports, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. We don’t even build all ports +universal. (I think there’s an open ticket for that somewhere, but I can’t find it at the moment. There have certainly been mailing list threads on the subject.)

Eh, I think I'll just let it go for now. Especially if it's an issue of only being able to provide prebuilt packages of one variant type at a time.

That's #35897
