Self Update failed, need advice — at Initial Version

I am having difficulties configuring software which requires boost, so i downloaded boost vi macports and received a notice to update ports. Below the messages received, i also pasted the boost error i get when configuring new software. my query is 2-part: how do i get past the update error, and is this related to my configrure unable to locate my
