    11Unclear if this is related or not, but vacuuming registry.db may have sped things up for me a bit, or may not have. I didn't do a fair test. I'm mentioning it just in case.

    3 To do the vacuum, build from source so you can get macports.sqlext around, cd to the directory with registry.db in it, "sqlite3 registry.db", ".load /path/to/macports.sqlext", then "vacuum;"
